WhatsApp broadcasts for Indian businesses
Broadcast lists versus API broadcasts
The WhatsApp Business app's broadcast lists are capped at 256 contacts, and only people who saved your number receive them. Broadcasts on the WhatsApp Business API reach any opted-in contact, carry buttons and media, and report what happened to each message. The trade-off is that each one uses a template Meta has approved and is billed per delivered message.
Unofficial "bulk WhatsApp sender" tools that automate a personal or Business app account break WhatsApp's terms, and numbers that use them get banned. Everything NitiGrow sends goes through Meta's official Cloud API.
How a campaign works in NitiGrow
1. Pick or create a template
Write a template with a text or media header, body and buttons (quick reply, website link or call), in English or Hindi. NitiGrow submits it to Meta as marketing, utility or authentication and keeps its approval status in sync. You can start from Meta's pre-approved library, the public template gallery organised by industry, or let AI draft one in English or Hindi.
2. Choose the audience
Send to everyone who opted in, to contacts with particular tags, to a saved segment, by lead status (hot, warm, cold or customer), or to hand-picked contacts. Segments filter on tags, status, channel, city, opt-in and lifetime value. You can also leave out people who received an earlier broadcast, so nobody gets the same offer twice.
3. Send now, schedule or batch
Send immediately, schedule for a time, or spread a large audience over daily, weekly or custom intervals. Contacts come in by CSV upload, with phone numbers validated on the way in.
4. Watch it land
Each campaign reports sent, delivered, read, replied and failed. Replies arrive in the shared inbox, where the team picks them up like any other chat.
Staying within Meta's rules
- Opt-in only. Broadcasts go only to contacts marked as opted in.
- Easy opt-out. A contact who replies STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, EXIT or CANCEL, or रुको, बंद करो or "band karo", is opted out automatically. START or SUBSCRIBE opts them back in.
- Rate limits handled. If Meta throttles a send, the campaign pauses, waits, resumes on its own and retries the contacts it missed.
- Quality watched. NitiGrow shows the quality rating and messaging tier Meta reports, which decide how many people you can reach in a day.

What a broadcast costs
Marketing templates cost around ₹0.86 per delivered message in India, so a broadcast delivered to 2,000 customers costs roughly ₹1,726 in Meta charges. Utility templates, such as order updates, reminders and confirmations, cost around ₹0.115. NitiGrow passes these through at cost. The pricing breakdown has the current rates and how categories are decided.
