Sell inside WhatsApp: catalog, cart and payments

NitiGrow product guide · Updated 3 November 2026

TL;DR: For a lot of Indian sellers the sale already happens on WhatsApp, just slowly: photos, prices typed by hand, a UPI ID, a screenshot of the payment. NitiGrow turns that into a flow: products from your Meta catalog sent as cards or carousels, the customer's WhatsApp cart arriving as an order, a payment link that marks itself paid, and order-status updates sent automatically.

Your catalog, inside the chat

NitiGrow keeps your products in step with your Meta catalog, pushing products to it and pulling them back. Products can have variants, such as size and colour, and be grouped into collections. If you already sell on Shopify or WooCommerce, NitiGrow can import your products from the store.

From any chat or broadcast, send a single product, a multi-product message, a carousel, or the whole catalog. The customer browses and adds to a WhatsApp cart without leaving the chat.

Cart to order

When a customer sends their WhatsApp cart, it becomes an order in NitiGrow automatically. Move it through pending, confirmed, packed, shipped, delivered and completed, or cancelled and refunded, and the customer is updated at each step: as a normal message within the 24-hour window, or as an approved template outside it.

If a customer builds a WhatsApp cart and doesn't send it, NitiGrow can send an abandoned-cart reminder using an approved template. Reminders are opt-in, so you decide whether to use them.

Getting paid

Cashfree payment links

Send a Cashfree payment link in the chat. When the customer pays, by UPI, card or netbanking, the order is marked paid automatically, so nobody has to match screenshots to orders.

WhatsApp Pay in India

WhatsApp's native payment message works with Razorpay, PayU, Zaakpay or BillDesk, once your business has completed Meta's payments onboarding. The customer pays without leaving WhatsApp.

Where the customers come from

Click-to-WhatsApp ads on Facebook and Instagram open a chat straight from the ad. NitiGrow records which ad each chat came from, and lead, add-to-cart and purchase events can be sent back to Meta through the Conversions API. The click-to-WhatsApp ads guide covers setup and costs.

What it doesn't do yet

The Shopify and WooCommerce connections import products only. Orders and carts on your Shopify or WooCommerce store are not synced into NitiGrow, so store-side abandoned-cart and order notifications still need your store's own tools. The e-commerce automation guide walks through those workflows.

What commerce messages cost

Order confirmations and shipping updates sent as templates are utility messages, around ₹0.115 each in India. Offers and new-arrival broadcasts are marketing, around ₹0.86. Replies inside the 24-hour window are service messages. See the full pricing breakdown.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a website or a Shopify store to sell on WhatsApp?
No. Your products live in your Meta catalog, which NitiGrow keeps in sync, and customers order from a WhatsApp cart. If you do have a Shopify or WooCommerce store, NitiGrow can import its products.
Can customers pay inside WhatsApp?
Yes, in two ways. Cashfree payment links open a checkout supporting UPI, cards and netbanking, and mark the order paid automatically. WhatsApp Pay's native payment message works with Razorpay, PayU, Zaakpay or BillDesk once your business completes Meta's payments onboarding.
Does NitiGrow sync orders from Shopify or WooCommerce?
Not yet. The integrations import products only. Orders placed through the WhatsApp cart are managed in NitiGrow; orders placed on your store stay in your store.
How much does an order update message cost?
An order confirmation or shipping update sent as a template is a utility message, around ₹0.115 in India. Within 24 hours of the customer's last message it can go as a normal service reply instead.
Can I send abandoned-cart reminders on WhatsApp?
Yes, for WhatsApp carts. When a customer builds a cart in WhatsApp and does not send it, NitiGrow can send a reminder using an approved template. The feature is opt-in.
